Samsungs AI Assistant Bixby Launch Delayed – English skills not up to scratch | #GalaxyS8 | #GalaxyS8Plus

Samsung’s AI Assistant Bixby Launch Delayed Because It Needs Some English Lessons

Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus owners in the United States will need to hold out a bit more before Bixby arrives, as the AI assistant is reportedly having issues getting the English language down.

Apart from the DeX and Infinity Display, among many other items, the Siri and Google Assistant competitor is actually promoted as only one of the essential functions of the South Korean brand’s existing flagship.

Put simply, it is supposed taking the user experience to a whole’ nother level along with the others, though it is becoming delayed, and that does not come as bad news for some individuals.

Bixby AI Assistant Needs An English Tutor

Based on the Wall Street Journal, Samsung is actually working into issues during internal tests of Bixby, especially with syntax and grammar of the English language.

Put differently, it is having difficulty constructing grammatical sentences, and that is a huge no no in case the smartphone developer wishes to create a splash in the scene.

Although due to the issues which turned up, it is now likely to roll out this June, originally, Samsung slated to release Bixby sometime in May. That is not put in stone, however.

For the record, even though users cannot speak to Bixby just yet, several of its functions are actually available, like Vision, Home, and Reminder.

“Bixby Voice benefits from time to further enhance natural language understanding, and we’re presently raising our user testing in the U.S. to get ready for launch,” Samsung says.

Bixby And The AI Assistant War

From the appearance of things, Siri and Assistant do not need to be worried about the upcoming contender for today because Samsung will have to solve all of the problems before Bixby may be viewed as a risk of sorts.

Basically, Siri and Assistant already understand English well, never to point out that the latter is actually prepared to be humorous and friendly.

Surprisingly enough, it does understand how to rap and diss Siri, though. Clearly, it is not in English.

Galaxy S8 Doing Fine Even Without Bixby

Although Bixby did not come out hand in hand with the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, the smartphones are actually doing very well on their own personal in terms of product sales and user satisfaction.
For example, Samsung did manage to get a remarkable 720,000 preorders for the Galaxy S8 before it was launched, despite coming hot on the heel of the entire exploding Galaxy Note seven fiasco.

The market performance ended up as probably the “best ever” for the maker, establishing a new record.

As a refresher, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus hit the shelves in April, packing in a Snapdragon 835, four GB of RAM, along with a great deal of options.

In order to boil things down, English speaking customers will not be getting Bixby anytime soon, leaving the featured side button for the assistant on their Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus ineffective for a little while longer.
