Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9 Plus To Have Same Screen as Galaxy S8 series?

Galaxy S9 & Galaxy S9 Plus May Have Same Screen as Galaxy S8 series?

Customers expecting Samsung to keep bringing bigger screens to their Galaxy S series are likely to be disappointed. Rumors of late report that the Samsung Galaxy S9 will feature a similar Infinity Display to the S8, but that is most certainly not bad news – considering its stunning appearance and quality.

Only a few months after the Galaxy S8 released and rumors about the sequel have already been surfacing. Information from “Industry Sources” (No solid reference) claim that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will essentially keep the same size screens as the S8 series (5.8in & 6.2in).

Rumor Mill: Galaxy S9 To Feature Identical Screen To The Galaxy S8

In essence buyers of the next S series will be treated to the same or similar Infinity Display found on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, once both future smartphones are released. If this is indeed the case, the idea of using similar displays – does seem as if Samsung would like to hold back on innovation and keep its current tech for another iteration. In recent times, we have seen smartphones gain bigger screens with each subsequent generation.

On the other hand, Samsung’s Infinity Display is possibly the most beautiful screen ever seen with a smartphone. Furthermore this indicates that Samsung may just be repackaging an innovation it’s already released in the S8 & S8+. Reports claim that Samsung Electronics has given Samsung Display the recognized display screen measurements – 5.77 inches for the starting Galaxy S9, 6.22 inches for the Galaxy S9.

Taking that into account, there is still a chance that Samsung might upgrade the display but maintain the current screen size, of course. The Bell reports, that Samsung will create a fingerprint scanner underneath the screen, which it notably failed to accomplish in time for the Galaxy S8. Both Vivo and also Qualcomm have already provided a brief look at its working prototype, so perhaps the science will likely be all set for when the S9 launches in 2018 (most likely).

Galaxy S9 And S9 Plus: What We Know So Far

It is a tad bit early on to speculate on the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, though seeing as the way they – allegedly – will have similar screens, the dimensions of the phone is likely to be very similar. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus happen to both be innovative and stunning smartphones, leaving minimal room for development, particularly in such a brief time period.

On the specs side, we are likely to see the emergence of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, more than 4 GB of RAM, dual camera feature (Like iPhone 7 Plus), and maybe even a slimmer profile. The Phones will likely ship with a healthy version of Android O.

But before concentrating on the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, there is also the Galaxy Note 8 to cover, this story develops more and more as we get closer to its likely August Announcement and September Release.
